Preview: Ladystrikers versus Hasaacas Ladies FC

There’s a rallying cry for a Hasaacas Ladies FC win against Ladystrikers to seal off the Southern Zone title defense with a game to spare.

The Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League enters its penultimate run of games with Coach Yussif Basigi and his lads already having a four point advantage against second placed Faith Ladies.

On 35 points now, Hasaacas Ladies could seal the league with two points from the last two games – that can be made easier with a win at Ladystriker at the Robert Mensah Stadium on Saturday, April 22, 2023 to render the last game of the week against Faith Ladies at the Sekondi Gyandu Park a dead rubber.

Hasaacas Ladies FC has an outstanding eight wins out of the eight games played at home; scoring a mammoth 23 goals and conceded three goals.

It is the away form that has been a bit unusual for the Yussif Basigi’s side, already Hasaacas Ladies succumbed to three defeats on the road; Berry Ladies, Army Ladies and Faith Ladies have had a piece of the Giants in the eight games played on the road.

There are away victories against Essiam Socrates, Ridge City FC and Thunder Queens and two draws against Police Ladies and Soccer Intellectuals.

On the road Hasaacas Ladies hold a superior goal advantage of 13 scored and nine conceded.

Doris Boaduwaa scored her ninth goal of the campaign and remained the Club’s top-scorer followed by Veronica Kumah-Baah and Doreen Copson with 8 and 7 goals respectively.

Ladystrikers will need a point more to cement its place in the 2023/2024 Season, currently six points clear off ninth placed, Thunder Queens.

The Cape-Coast-based side will be buoyed by the 6-1 win secured against Ridge City FC Women in the previous match.

Hasaacas Ladies however hold a magnificent record against Ladystrikers with the last five games all going in the favour of the Giants, the recent being a 2-1 win at the Sekondi Gyandu Park.

The 2021/2022 season saw Hasaacas Ladies FC instilling 3-0 home and away wins on the Strikers.

Before that, Hasaacas Ladies laid a 2-1 win to open the 2020/201 season before adding a 5-1 home win at the Gyandu Park.
