Fidous Yakubu Grabs Brace as Hasaacas Ladies Trounce Socrates Ladies 6–2

Hasaacas Ladies produced another blistering display to overpower debutantes Essiam Socrates Ladies FC in our first game at the Mankessim Astroturf on match day two of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.

Fidous Yakubu grabbed brace, one at either side of the halves, Doris Boaduwaa, Success Ameyaa, substitute Veronica Kumah-Baah and Doreen Copson all found the back of the net in a 6-2 mauling of the host.

The Southern Zone reigning champions were eager at the early stages of the game as Fidous Yakubu registered her debut goal for Hasaacas Ladies and the game opener at just 6 minutes into the game. The Giants extended the lead through Success Ameyaa two minutes after to ensure the team secured a breathing space to take the score-line to 0–2 inside the 10th minute.

The lead was halved by the host on the 26th minute to bring the score-line to 1–2 before the first half break.

But for some few moments inside the second department of the game Fidous Yakubu grabbed her second of the day and restored Hasaacas Ladies FC’s two goal lead.

The lead was extended by Doris Boaduwaa, her first of the campaign to give Hasaacas Ladies three goal advantage before substitute Veronica Kumah-Baah and Doreen Copson added to the tally.

Hasaacas Ladies produced 5 different scorers in the game and made it two wins out of two games with a 2–6 win.

What happened?

Hasaacas Ladies travelled to the Mankessim Astroturf to play debutants Essiam Socrates FC in an encounter that was heavily followed due to Essiam Socrates outstanding 3 – 0 away win against Ridge City Football Club Women in the Match Day One round of games.

Hasaacas Ladies came into the game with a 1–0 win from the season opener against Berry Ladies and decided to go with the same line-up used in the opening game.

The rains on the day came with goals as eight goals were produced in the encounter seeing Hasaacas Ladies impressively grabbing six of the goals.

Player of the Match

Doreen Copson was adjudged the Player of the Match for her dazzling skills in the middle of the park – she prompted most of the fine displays in the middle of the park and got on the score-sheet herself by getting the 6th goal of the game.
