Hasaacas Ladies were at the end of a 2-1 defeat to Army Ladies in the final of the Super Cup tournament over the weekend.
Our Ladies were at the blink of repeating the gold-winning feat in the maiden edition of tournament only to be jilted by Army Ladies Fc in the final ten minutes of the tournament.
After winning gold at the birth of the competition and having higher hopes of clinching this year’s edition to make it two out of two appearances in the tournament, we however failed to clinch the ultimate as we recorded our fist loss in the finals and eventually losing the trophy.
Latifa Mohammed scored in the very beginning of the match (2mins) to put the opponents in front while our ladies were now settling into the game.
After the first quarter of the game, we were awarded a penalty where our captain, Fidous Yakubu made no mistake by converting beautifully to level up in the sixteenth minute.
Due to a heavy downpour, the game was halted for a while in the second half. After the break, the opponents went ahead again with a goal from Harriet Adjetei in the eighty-first minute.
We kept pushing and created goal scoring opportunities but we could not equalize even after seven minutes of added time. It ended 2-1 defeat at full time.
