Hasaacas Ladies Edged Out on Spot Kicks in Women’s Premier League Final

Hasaacas Ladies suffered heartbreak in Women’s Premier League final losing 5–3 on spot kicks to Ampem Darkoa Ladies at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Success Ameyaa put Hasaacas Ladies in front from the spot in the first half after Safiatu Salifu had brought Veronica Appiah down in the box – Ampem Darkoa Ladies equalled in the same half when Comfort Yeboah in similar fashion turned up to give the Nana Mma lads the equaliser.

The half ended with a goal apiece as both teams walked through the tunnel for recess.

Hasaacas Ladies conjured for the equaliser but met an equaliser determined opponent as both halves ended 1–1.

What Happened

It was an early show of intent which should have aided in a goal or two for Hasaacas Ladies FC; first Veronica Appiah was played through beautifully by Doris Boaduwaa but she seemed to have been impeded by two defenders[Justice Tweneboah and Anoma Opoku] but the referee will have none of that.

Doris Boaduwaa tried her effort from afar but her effort was didn’t trouble Safiatu Salifu.

Success Ameyaa stood up and strike to the back of the net when Veronica Appiah was brought down inside the box.

There was an equal response from Comfort Yeboah who took matters into her own hands to convert from the spot.

The game travelled to the extra time and to the penalty kicks.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies won 5 – 3 on spot kicks; Veronica Kuma Baah failed to score her kick and that gave Ophelia Serwaa Amponsh the ultimate power to send her side to the trophy.
