Hasaacas Ladies FC Left it Late in Slim Victory against Resolute Ladystrikers

Southern Zone Champions, Hasaacas Ladies Football Club came from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Ladystrikers at the favorite Sekondi Gyandu Park courtesy goals from Doris Boaduwaa and Fidous Yakubu.

The Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League resumed after Qatar 2022 World Cup, Christmas and New Year holidays and round eight of the 18 game-days-long zonal league was cleared.

Ladystrikers’ Gifty Addai Boakye shook the Doooo Ladies net on the 11th minute and what followed were goals from Doris Boaduwaa and Fidous Yakubu’s on the dying embers to restore Hasaacas Ladies to winning ways.

How We Lined Up

Coach Yussif Basigi commenced the encounter with Grace Banwaa in goal; Linda Eshun and Abiba Issah were the central defensive pair flanked by Comfort Owusu and Fatimata Fuseini on the right and left respectively.

In the middle were Faustina Nyame Aidoo, Doreen Copson and Success Ameyaa.

Doris Boaduwaa after a lengthy layoff which saw her miss game day 6 and 7 against Army Ladies and Soccer Intellectuals returned alongside Ama Bennie Appiah and there was a debut start for Mary Opoku Ndali.

What happened

It was the Visitors[Ladystrikers] that had a feel of the ball first and took the game to Hasaacas Ladies FC with clear intent of drive and the will to steal something out of the game.

And deservedly went ahead on the 11th minute from a timely strike from Gifty Addai Boakye.

Hasaacas Ladies had to craw back from behind at home for the first time this season and after several tries Doris Boaduwaa saw the goalkeeper off her line and lobbed the ball over the oncoming Yasmin Haruna to restore parity.

It was our ladies that enjoyed the chunk of the possession for the remainder of the first half and could have gone ahead but for the strong gloves of Yasmin Haruna.

It looked like a split of spoils until the regulation time was done and a cross from Ama Bennie Appiah was handled by Edith Ogbonna inside the box leaving both the Line Woman and the center Referee no chance than to point to the spot.

Fidous Yakubu stepped up and expertly converted to ensure Hasaacas Ladies continued the 100 percent winning record at home.

What’s Next

Hasaacas Ladies FC will engage afield Faith Ladies to close the first round of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.
