Hasaacas Ladies ran out an impressive performance with a 4–1 win against Ridge City FC Women to move up to the summit of the league log in pursuit of another Southern Zone Championship title in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.
Veronica Kumah-Baah and Doris Boaduwaa produced two braces to ensure the holders of the Southern Zone title brightened its chances of winning it for a record fourth consecutive times in the history of the competition.
How it happened
Hasaacas Ladies showed clearly signs of a determined side early in the game as Veronica Kumah-Baah opened the score cards with a brilliant run through the middle to put Yussif Basigi’s side upfront on the 6th minute mark.
Kumah-Baah doubled the lead ten minutes later to ensure that Hasaacas Ladies secured some breathing space.
Doris Boaduwaa scored her first of the game after her determined cross dummied the goalkeeper for the game’s third goal for Hasaacas Ladies FC.
Loretta Yeboah pulled a goal back for the Host to end the half 3–1 in Hasmal’s favour.
It was yet another determined approach after the recess as chances fell on the path of both sides but until the 73rd minute mark when Doris Boaduwaa well–controlled Sylvia Osei’s pass to power in a thunderbolt of a strike to end the game 4–1 in Hasmal’s favour.
