Confederation of African Football has today, Monday, September 13, revealed the date for the draw of the maiden edition of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League.
The draw according to a publication by the Ghana Football Association will come off on September 29, 2021 at CAF’s Headquarters with the tournament proper slated for November 5 to November 19 bar any late change.
Hasaacas Ladies secured the first of the 2 slots available for WAFU Zone B to the finals of the maiden CAF Women’s Champions League to be held at Cairo later this year.
CAF has also settled on all 8 participants for the tournament:
WAFU A : AS Mande ( Mali)
WAFU B: Hasaacas FC ( Ghana) Winner , & Rivers Angels ( Nigeria) runner up ( As the zone holder of the previous Women’s AFCON 2018 , they have 2 slots)
UNAF: ASFAR FC (Morocco) & Wadi Degla FC ( Egypt) as host of the FT
UNIFFAC: Malabo Kings (Equatorial Guinea)
COSAFA: Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa)
CECAFA: Vihiga Queens FC (Kenya)
Coach Yussif Basigi together with the team have shown clearly the desire to win title with so far in 2021 securing three titles: Ghana’s Women’s Premier League and Women’s FA Cup and the WAFU Zone B Women’s Champions League Qualifiers trophy.
