Hasmal end 2023 unbeaten after 1-1 draw against Faith Ladies

Hasaacas Ladies Football Club secured an outstanding 2023 record after seven wins and two draws in the 2023/24 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League following a 1-1 draw with Faith Ladies FC at the Sekondi Gyandu Park.

The team’s winning streak and unbeaten run at home was nearly jilted by Faith Ladies FC but for a late strike from Fidous Yakubu which leveled matters and ensured the Giants maintained the fine form.

The Visitors had taken the lead halfway inside the second half through Alice Longdon and held their own till the added on time when Mukarama Abdulai was brought down inside the area and Fidous Yakubu stepped up to slot the resulted penalty home to end the game 1-1.

The Giants exerted their dominance in terms of possession by seeing a lot of the ball yet struggled to break the watertight defense of the Dansoman-based side.

Prior to this; the Giants had secured three wins at home and four wins and one draw on the road ahead of the Faith Ladies tie.

Abiba Issah was adjudged the Player of the Match with her heroics in the heart of the defense. Her stalwart effort and ability to calm play from the back caught the eyes of the technical team to hand her the accolade.

Hasmal Ladies maintains the eight points lead over Faith Ladies(second placed) with points build up between the two currently 23 and 15 points respectively.

The lead may be reduced due to Army Ladies and Berry Ladies yet to play their respective games.
