Abdulai Mukarama scored the only goal of the game as Hasaacas Ladies FC secured a priceless 1-0 win at Sea Lions to commence the defense of the Southern Zone Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.

Our Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League match-day-one action was intense as we managed to pick all maximum points at the Ndoum Sports Complex on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

The much anticipated opening game against a tricky side, Sea Lions on their favorite grounds, we dug deep to fetch all three points in a game that produced only one goal at the end, thanks to Mukarama’s beautiful header in the 48th minute.

How we lined up;

Grace Banwaa returned to the starting lineup after playing second option to Diana Maweremou in the Women’s Premier League Super Cup silver winning campaign.

In the defense; Rubby Osei, Comfort Owusu, Abiba Issah and Vera Afful.

Success Ameyaa, Veronica Kumah Baah and Fidous Yakubu held up the central midfield roles.

Mukarama Abdulai, Abigail Sakyiwaa and Fatoumata Tamboura led the attack.

What Happened;

Game was barren in the first half with our ladies on top and causing some threats upfront but failing to find a goal on several occasions when we came came very close.

Just after the interval, Mukarama Abdulai with her striking prowess found the back of the net to put us in front in her debut game.

The Ghanaian international striker with huge experiences on both local and international stages caused a lot of upsets to the opponent’s through the game as she received a standing ovation after the match.

We continued pushing for more but the final outcome turned out a goal to nill as we head into our next game with maximum three points.

What it means;

The win put Hasaacas Ladies right in the midst of contenders for the top place after week one; Army Ladies and Soccer Intellectuals secured wins on the road stretching up the contest already after one match day.
