Four different scorers show up strong as Hasaacas Ladies trounced Police Ladies FC to continue fine start to the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League season…

Hasaacas Ladies Football Club conjured beautifully to take the unbeaten ran in the league to 21.

It ended 4-0 for Hasaacas Ladies FC with goals from Doreen Copson, Veronica Kumah-Baah, Doris Boaduwaa and Fidous Yakubu to complete the dominance over three games in the league.

One Change was made for this encounter; Efuwa Asabel made way for Veronica Kumah-Baah, her first start of the season to bring more bite in the attack.

Substitute: Akua Osei came on for Doreen Copson, Fidous Yakubu for Matilda Abu Bonsra Baah; Lucy Kwofie for Success Ameyaa.

What Happened

It was a near perfect atmosphere at the Sekondi Gyandu Park with a handful of supporters available to cheer up the host.

Police Ladies kicked the game underway and nearly caused havoc but for the intervention of Grace Banwaa.

Before long, Doreen Copson firmed up another impressive display and pounced on to a Doris Boaduwaa assist as Hasaacas Ladies registered first of four goals on the 12th minute.

Hasaacas Ladies continued the dominance and after several attempts on goal, Veronica Kumah-Baah was on hand to turn in for the game’s second after Doris Boaduwaa’s strike had been parried by the goalkeeper.

The search continued and after setting up the first two, Doris Boaduwaa had a goal of her own after lobbing a well timed effort over the head of the goalkeeper to make the scoreline 3-0 before the first half break.

There was no looking back and after recess Hasaacas Ladies proved there was no looking back and what should have been an onslaught was coupled with missed opportunities and narrow misses as the game traveled on.

Doris Boaduwaa came close twice one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but each time her tried lob met a touch from the goalkeeper.

Inside the 71st minute and this time the number 10 shirted attacker was brought down inside the area and the referee pointed to the spot.

Fidous Yakubu stepped up and turned it in expertly to bring the game to 4-0.

What it means

The win means Hasaacas Ladies have now gone a run of 21 games without defeat in the Southern Zone Women’s Premier League and 5 consecutive wins dating back to the 2021/2022 season in t he southern zone.

The team now has three wins in the 2022/2023 season scoring eleven goals and conceding two goals.

What’s next

Hasaacas Ladies will make a trip to the capital on match day for to face Thunder Queens Football Club.
