Success and Appiah strike to Propel Hasaacas Ladies to Women’s FA Cup Final

The Giants set up another final with Ampem Darkoa Ladies with a 2 – 0 victory against Ashtown Ladies following goals at each half from Success Ameyaa and Veronica Appiah.

The victory takes Hasaacas Ladies unbeaten run to 25 games in the local competitions.

Success Ameyaa put Hasaacas Ladies in the lead at the 18th minute from the penalty spot after Doris Boaduwaa was brought down inside the area.

Veronica Appiah added the second at the 90th minute after substitute Obianuju Mary went past her marker and teed a pass to the forward who then calmly tapped in from close range.

The win was not without a fight as the Kumasi-based side fought tooth and nail for everything only meeting our strong defence.

How We Lined Up

Coach Yussif Basigi made a change from the side that won 3–0 against Berry Ladies Football Club the last time out.

Asana Yahaya was brought in for the injured Faustina Nyame Aidoo.

Grace Banwaa was in poles and had in front of her a wall of 4 made up of Janet Egyir, Blessing Shine, Lucy Kwofie and Asana Yahaya.

Linda Eshun was played in the middle of the park alongside Doreen Copson and Success Ameyaa.

In attack were Doris Boaduwaa, Veronica Appiah and Comfort Owusu.

Lucy Kwofie made way for Obianuju Mary, Linda Eshun was substituted for Linda Epo and Veronica Appiah was replaced by Lawrencia Yeboah.

What Happened

It was fairly balanced game at the McDan Park.

Hasacaas Ladies picked the win following goals from Veronica Appiah and Success Ameyaa.

It was a demanding game from the away side.

What it means

Hasaacas Ladies becomes only the third time to make the final of the Women’s FA Cup twice on a trot; Ampem Darkoa Ladies and Police Ladies the other two sides.

The win sets Hasaacas Ladies up with another final against Ampem Darkoa Ladies – becoming the 4th final within a year for the two sides.
