The Vice President of Ghana, Alhaji Dr Mahamadu Bwawumia, has congratulated Hasaacas Ladies on winning the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.
Hasaacas Ladies ended the 2023/24 season as winners of Ghana’s top flight beating Ampem Darkoa Ladies 2-1 in the final to clinch their fifth Women’s Premier League title on June 8.
The success confirmed their status as champions for the first time since the 202/21 season.
Dr. Bawumia has now sent his congratulatory message to the Sekondi-based club following their triumph.
“I have taken notice of your stellar performance in the just ended Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League,” he wrote.
“Congratulations to the management, technical team, playing body and fans on your impressive achievement of winning your 5th league title and qualifying to represent Ghana at the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League, WAFU Zone.”
Winning the league means the Hasmal Ladies will represent Ghana at the WAFU B Women’s Champions League Qualifiers to be staged in Abidjan in August.
Dr. Bawumia is hopeful Hasaacas will win the tournament and subsequently go on to hoist the flag of Ghana in the main CAF Women’s Champions League tournament.
“It is my prayer that you repeat your outstanding feat of 2021, by winning hte CAF WAFU Zone trophy and marching on to the main tournament,” he added.
“I look forward to hosting you once again, as you prepare for the upcoming tournament.”

Hasaacas Ladies last played at the continental tournament during the maiden edition in 2021 where they finished second, losing to Mamelodi Sundowns in the final.
