Friday evening’s CAF sponsored Twitter Space brought about an insightful look into the Women’s categories as Nigeria’s Oma Akatugba argued in Evelyn Badu’s favour for the CAF Interclub Player of the Year category.
First let’s start with some positive news as Hasaacas Ladies, a week from today, July 23, 2022, become the first Women’s Premier League side to host a friendly encounter with European Club.
Former Denmark Cup Champions, FC Nordjaelland is expected in Ghana on Sunday, July 17, 2022 for the friendly encounter against Hasaacas Ladies Football Club at the Nduom Sports Complex, Elmina.

To end this week’s run through what the media has been talking about; CAF held a space on the upcoming CAF Awards 2022 which had Ghana’s Gary Al-Smith and Saddick Adams, Nigeria’s Oma Akatugba and the Legendary Kalusha Bwalya.
Oma Akatugba on Evelyn Badu’s chances stated – “the tournament ended with Evelyn Badu as the best player and the top scorer, Andre Dlamani[as the best goalkeeper] which makes it easy for whoever is voting. If we are looking at players based on their performance at the Interclub Player of the Year then we should not look beyond Evelyn Badu who’s the best player and the top scorer of the CAF Women’s Champions League”.
The Twitter Space touched on the Club of the Year and Coach of the Year which have Hasaacas Ladies Football Club and Coach Yussif Basigi.
Both players were in the thick of affairs in our quintuple winning run under the season under review; WAFU Zone B Champions, all four(4) domestic titles and finishes second in the CAF Women’s Champions League.
